Organizing Authority

The 2015 International One Metre World Championship is organized by the South Bay Model Yacht Club in association with the USA IOM NCA, as approved by the International One Metre Class Association and under the overall authority of ISAF, IRA and AMYA


1. Venue

The 2015 International One Metre Class World Championship will be held at Central Lake, Foster City-CA, USA <br/>Lat. 7.55688, and Lon. 122.26958.


2. Rules

The event will be governed by the 2013-2016 Racing Rules of Sailing as changed by appendix E, including the following documents:

- The Event’s Sailing Instruction
- The IOMICA Class Championship Rules
- The International One Metre Class Rules
- The IRSA Championship Regulations
- The Equipment Rules of Sailing
- The current IRSAAddendum Q (Umpiring)
- The current Heat Management System (HMS)as approved by IRSA

The current IRSA SYRPH Rule E6.6(f) may be changed in the Sailing Instructions.
No National prescriptions will apply.

3. Eligibility

Seventy-six (76) competitors will be accepted as per paragraph 8 of the Class Championship Rules.The competition is open to International One Metre class boats selected by an IOM National Class Association in good standing with IOMICA and IRSA. The ISAF Regulations regarding eligibility apply with the additional requirements of the IOMICA Class Championship Regulations.


4. Registration

4.1.    A valid IOM Class Certificate for each boat must be submitted on or before April 8th, 2015. An e-mail copy is acceptable; however the original must be made available at registration.Boats togetherwith their measurement certificates shall be presented for registration and equipment inspection on Friday May 8, 2015 between 9:00am to 5:00pm andSaturday May 9, between 9:00am to 4:00pm. The Race Committee may extend the time for registration and inspection if there is a valid reason to do so.No boat shall be eligible to race until it has been registered and has passed equipment inspection.
4.2. Eligible boat may enter by completing the entry form on this web site and sending it with the required fee.

5. Equipment Inspection

It is intended that all boats will pass equipment inspection before Saturday May 9th (4:00 pm). Nonetheless, the Race Committee may at any time request the Equipment Inspector to confirm that a boat complies with the IOM Class Rules. Random spot checks may be made throughout the event.


6. Frequencies

The permitted frequency bands are 26, 27,50,75 MHz and 2.4 GHz. Each competitor must have a minimum of 4frequencies available except on 2.4 GHz.


7. Fees

Entries shall be made using the official 2015 IOMWorld Championship Entry Form which must be endorsed by the NCA entering the competitor. Boat certificates, Entry and Emergency Forms must be forwarded to:

9. Sailing Instructions

The Sailing Instructions will be available at registration and may be available before hand on the event website.


10. Umpires

10.1.    ISAF International Umpires or International Judges or NU shall be appointed as umpires. National Judges and National Umpires may be appointed to assist
10.2.    Competitors will be required to undertake Observer duties.
10.3.    An International Jury conforming to RRS Appendix N shall be appointed and the right of appeal is denied under RRS 70.5.
10.4.    When a hearing is conducted by a Jury panel under rule N1.4 (b) the right to request a hearing by a full International Jury is maintained. However, after the warning signal of any heat to which a party to the hearing may be promoted, any decision or redress shall not change the race schedule for that race. This changes rules 64.1 and 64.2

11. Scoring and Racing System

11.1.    The Championship will be raced and scored under the Heat Management System (HMS). Entries shall be limited to 76 boats.
11.2.    Five completed races shall constitute the championship.

12. Liability

12.1.    All those entering or taking part in this Championship do so at their own risk and responsibility. ISAF, IRSA, the International One Metre International Class Association, the South Bay Model Yacht Club, USA IOM NCA, AMYA, city of Foster City and any other parties involved in the organization of this event disclaim any and every responsibility whatsoever for loss, damage, injury or inconvenience that might occur to persons and goods, both on the water and ashore as a consequence of entering or participating in the Championship covered by this Notice ofRace.
12.2.    At all times the responsibility for the safety of their boat and themselves including the decision to participate or continue shall rest with the competitor. By entering the event it is deemed that you accept these conditions. Competitors are advised to ensure that they have adequate personal insurance that provides cover for public liability and their possible injury in the USA.

13. Accommodation, Transport, etc

Appendix A, available on the event website, contains a list ofaccommodation packages and coststhe list of social, food andtransport packagesand their costs available to competitors, partners, and supporters.
